President William Ruto has announced plans to abolish visa requirements for Kenyan nationals visiting the country, aiming to boost trade and mutual interests.

The move follows Ruto’s promise to remove DRC from Category 2 to Category 1 visa regulations, in compliance with East Africa Community regulations.

Ruto has also waived visa requirements for Senegal, Comoros, Indonesian nationals, Eritrea, and Djibouti.

He has also waived visa requirements for African nationals travelling to Kenya for business, stating it as the first step in removing barriers to intra-Africa trade.

The move follows Ruto’s promise to remove travel restrictions for Kenyan nationals.
